What Is Your Booking and Cancellation Policy?

To make a reservation through VRBO, we will need a 25% deposit of the rental cost plus, in an agreement made between VRBO and the State of Hawaii, the deposit payment now requires the collection of the taxes due included in that payment, all of which is fully refundable under the conditions noted below. The final payment of the balance due must be completed by 30 days before arrival.

 

A full refund is offered until 30 days before arrival, with a 50% refund between 14 and 30 days and no refund will be made for a cancellation of less than 14 days.

 

We can accept cancellation requests before arrival and after the set deadlines but money is then only refunded based on how many nights we, or Castle Resorts, can rent out the unit. More days provides ample opportunity for us to rebook, which is more difficult with a shorter final confirmation period. 

 

How Do You Accept Payment?

The VRBO site only accepts credit card payments. 

 

Are there any additional costs?

Kiahuna Plantation requires periodic cleaning for all guests to maintain the quality and safe health environment of the rented condos: a required check-out cleaning fee is mandatory for all guests ($268 plus tax) and a mid-stay "refreshment" is optional for any stay of 10 days or more ($62 plus tax).  Longer stays may require additional mid-stay cleanings or refreshments. These rates are set by the Rental Advisory Board and not by the owners and are subject to change.  Additional cleanings and services are available at the discretion of the guest, payable to the management agent, and prices are available upon request.

In addition to the nightly rate, as noted there is a required general excise and transient accommodations tax payment, along with a new Kauai county tax, all set by the State of Hawaii, in the total amount of 17.962% that must now be collected and submitted at the time of the first payment.

 

How Do I Get My Keys?

Castle Resorts is the onsite manager and you check in with Castle Resorts's front desk which is located at the Kiahuna Plantation.  They will register you for all the amenities and will issue you a parking pass and condo keys.  If your plane is late don't, it's not a problem!  They will be ready for you when you arrive, including a lock-box self-check in should your arrival be outside of business hours.

 

Is Parking and Internet Included?

Yes, there is no charge for parking or for the wifi internet connection.

How Do I Get To The Kiahuna Plantation?

When you pick up your rental car ask for directions at the time.  The rental car company will issue you a map and show you how to get here.

 

What If Something Doesn't Work Or I Lose My Keys

The front desk is open 24/7 and they will assist; you can reach them at 808-742-2200.  

 

Are Beach and Pool Towels Included?

Yes, daily!  You get free beach and pool towels at the beach and pool huts.

 

Does The Kiahuna Plantation Have Air-Conditioning?

Generally, Kiahuna condos do not have air conditioning and that is true for most of the condominiums in the area as well, as they rely on the trade winds for cooling.   While our unit is on the top floor of a low-rise two-story building and we are on the end unit, with plenty of louvers and ceiling fans which, together, provide for a fabulous air flow, we do have air conditioning installed in the bedroom for our guests who prefer to use that option.

 

Can You Help Me With Rental Cars

All of the major car rental companies are at the Lihue airport; we recommend that you reserve your car early as Kauai can be pretty busy with visitors all year round but particularly during high peak vacation and holiday periods.
